Municipality of Kincardine Official Plan
Consultation for the Official Plan has concluded. The Official Plan has been approved by Council and is awaiting approval from the County.
The Official Plan for the Municipality of Kincardine establishes guidance for future land use planning and development in the Municipality. Using both text and maps, the Official Plan identifies areas for future growth, areas to be protected from development and the location and classification of current and future roads. The Official Plan also describes the policies and procedures to be followed when planning the development of land and provision of municipal services.
The existing Kincardine Official Plan was adopted by the Municipality in 2006, approved by Bruce County in 2007, and approved by the Ontario Municipal Board in 2009.Given the time since adoption and approval, the Municipality has initiated the current update process.
A public Open House is planned in order to provide members of the public with an opportunity to review work conducted to date on the project, specifically the recently released draft Official Plan. Display boards will be available for review depicting the revised mapping, and members of the project team and Municipal staff will be on-hand to discuss the work and answer questions.
Community members are invited to attend the open house to review materials and speak to the project team. Comment sheets will also be available at the meeting and made available online, in order to help community members provide input.
The draft Official Plan will be finalized following input obtained as a result of the Open House, as well as additional consultation with review agencies. We anticipate the final revised Official Plan will be brought forward to Council for consideration in the New Year.
